Transnational families are formed, with parents and minor children living on both sides of the border, when one or both parents go to work abroad and the child (ren) remains to live in Lithuania. The aim of the dissertation research is to examine the practices of transnational child care that correct family relationships, revealing the attitudes of departed fathers / mothers / both parents and children left to live in Lithuania. Combining the theoretical approaches of care circulation and family practices with the dyadic configurational approach to family research, a unique study of child transnational families was formed, revealing the peculiarities of care organization, family relationships and emotional experiences of children living in Lithuania and departed parents. After the departure of one / both parents in transnational families, child care is transformed, specific care practices of outgoing parents and caregivers are formed, which ensure preservation of family ties in living across the borders, children's family concept changes (family structural organization, family membership criteria) review of the role in family decisions and the formation of positive and negative experiences of children from transnational families.","abstract_html":"Rapid migration of the Lithuanian population encourages changes in the field of family life.
