The collected data was coded and captured on the latest vision of SPSS, pie charts, tables and bar graphs to describe the results. The qualitative data was subjected to thematic analysis through Atlas.ti. The study findings revealed that factors such as nepotism and corruption play a major role in the lack of transparency and unfairness of the recruitment and hiring processes at the municipality. These factors have a severe impact on the recruitment and hiring processes as they lead to incompetencies which affect the quality of service rendered by the municipality to the people.
