School-parent partnership in the enhancement of effective teaching and learning of the children
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe aim of the study was to investigate school-parent partnership in the enhancement of effective teaching and learning of the children. Parents and schools remain key players in determining children's education because parents are primary, natural and first teachers of the child, while schools are responsible for the development of the academic growth of the child. The study followed a qualitative approach. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and artifacts. Data analysis was done through coding of data. Emerging themes were selected from specific data. Findings from the study were analyzed and discussed as they appear in parents and schools. School parent partnership in the enhancement of effective teaching and learning of the children is still limited. It is hoped that every school will promote partnerships that will increase parental involvement and participation in promoting the social, emotional and academic growth of children.
