Sociological and statistical methods were applied. Based on the conducted research, the following scientific and practical contributions were obtained: the important role and contribution of the nurse with independent practice in improving the quality of care have been demonstrated, along with patients' positive attitudes towards utilising such care. The main challenges and opportunities associated with their implementation have been identified. Innovative practical approaches have been developed to create opportunities to overcome the challenges faced by healthcare provided by nurses in independent practices: a unified electronic system, a standardised form for obtaining informed patient consent, a training program for the speciality “Independent Healthcare Practice”, an algorithm for establishing an outpatient clinic for individual/group health care practice, and approaches for financing healthcare activities and services provided by nurses in independent nursing practices. Приложени са социологически и статистически методи. На база на проведеното проучване са получени следните научно приложни приноси: Доказани са важната роля и принос на медицинската сестра със самостоятелна практика за повишаване на качеството на грижите, положителни нагласи на пациентите да се възползват от тези грижи, изведени са основните предизвикателства и възможности, свързани с тяхното осъществяване. Разработени са иновативни практически подходи, създаващи възможности за преодоляване на предизвикателствата пред здравните грижи, оказвани от медицински сестри в самостоятелни практики: единна електрона система, унифициран формуляр за получаване на информирано съгласие от пациента, учебна програма за обучение по специалност „Самостоятелна практика за здравни грижи”, алгоритъм за основаване на Амбулатория за индивидуална/групова практика за здравни грижи и подходи за финансиране на здравните дейности и грижи оказвани от медицински сестри в самостоятелни сестрински практики.
