General practitioners performing primary prevention and screening for socially significant diseases have a key role in the detection, diagnosis and follow-up of individuals with alcohol dependence. The thesis aims to establish the frequency of risky alcohol consumption among the studied population, the physical and mental impairments from alcohol dependence and the development of a model for monitoring and dispensary examination of the identified risky and dependent individuals within the framework of pre-hospital care. A population of 610 adults was studied using a screening questionnaire, biochemical markers and ultrasound diagnostics of the liver. A high frequency of alcohol consumption was established, as well as a large number of individuals with newly discovered alcohol dependence and concomitant physical and mental impairments. The reliability and validity of the applied methodology were proven. The thesis contribution is in the development of an effective, fast and accessible algorithm for the detection, staging and monitoring of patients with alcohol dependence in pre-hospital care.","abstract_html":"Alcoholism, with its widespread prevalence and pronounced social significance, complex multifactorial genesis and polymorphic clinical picture, with difficult-to-solve therapeutic and prophylactic issues, requires not only knowledge of the diagnostic process, but also that of prevention and monitoring.
