Massive weight loss has been a leading cause of soft tissue ptosis in all areas of the body. The skin excess is known to be both an aesthetic and a functional issue for patients. This could be a possible cause of an infection in the area of the weight loss. Surgical procedures aiming to achieve possible lifting and excision of the well-known soft tissue excess, and the variety of those procedures has been explained.
