Fixed Crown Prosthetic Treatment in Childhood – Functional Aspects /// Неснемаемо коронково протезиране в детска възраст – функционални аспекти
Abstract
dc:descriptionProsthetic treatment with fixed crown constructions in childhood is an actual issue with lasting importance. Defects in the dental structures due to caries and its complications violate the normal chewing and speech function and the normal appearance of children. The aim of the dissertation is on the basis of sociological and clinical researches to introduce and aprobate in practice treatment methodologies with fixed crown prosthesis in childhood, by evaluating the functional medical-biological indicator. It is proposed a methodical sequence for the prosthetic treatment of temporary teeth with ready-made zirconia crowns and crowns, made by CAD/CAM technology of composite material. On the basis of a methodology for logopaedic examination of speech function, sound pronunciation and speech articulation were studied in children before and after reconstruction with crown constructions in frontal sectors of the dentition. By the subjective assessment of the children and their parents from the prosthetic treatment, the final result of the crown prosthesis was evaluated on the three medio-biological indicators - prophylaxis, function, and aesthetics. On the basis of an assessment of dietary intake of proteins, carbohydrates, fibres and fat, the effect of prosthetic treatment on the possibility of implementation of full and balanced nutrition was studied.
