Study on the combined use of high-energy laser and manual therapy in patients with functional thoracic spine disorders // Проучване на комбинираното приложение на високоенергиен лазер и мануална терапия при пациенти с функционални нарушения в торакален отдел

This thesis represents the first scientific study investigating the clinical effectiveness of combining high-energy laser and manual therapy in patients with functional thoracic spine disorders. Functional disorders in the thoracic spine are discussed as the leading cause of pain and limited range of motion in this area. The currently available scientific data on the effectiveness of manual therapy and high-energy MLS-laser in this type of pathology are presented. A new protocol for treating these patients, including the combined application of the mentioned factors, is proposed. The short- and long-term therapeutic effectiveness of the application of manual therapy as a monotherapy and of its combined application with a high-energy laser in patients with functional thoracic spine disorders was established. The comparative analysis of the mentioned therapeutic protocols shows the superiority of the combined application of MLS-laser and manual therapy in the patients studied. The obtained scientific data have practical-applied contributions regarding the use of the established therapeutic protocol for treating patients with functional thoracic spine disorders.
