Abstract
dc:descriptionThe dynamic development of laboratory medicine requires a shift in student motivation, consistent with their competitiveness on the European and other markets. The thesis aims to analyse the specific features, new approaches in training and perspectives of medical laboratory technicians and their professional development. The study highlights effective European methods that facilitate timely advancements in the field of medical laboratory professionals, shaping their modern identity. The survey included covered 189 individuals. These are medical laboratory technicians practising their profession in Varna, students studying at the Medical Colleges in Varna and Stara Zagora, and experts in laboratory services. Five stages of the study are described – research on the relevance of the issue, actual research phase, processing and analysis of data, description of results, conclusions and contributions. The results and recommendations in the study prove the need to create a model for a Master's program specific to the laboratory-diagnostic field. The model of the Medical Laboratory Management speciality will aim to increase the efficiency in the professional training of medical laboratory graduates. The Master's program is an innovative start for technical training in the field of medical and laboratory equipment, medical laboratory software, healthcare management and social medicine.
