Nurseries in Support of the Parents for Establishing Healthy Habits in Children // Детските ясли в подкрепа на родителите за формиране на здравословни навици на детето
Abstract
dc:descriptionOne of the main aspects of children's upbringing is the formation of healthy habits. They form part of the development of the child's positive attitude towards a healthy lifestyle, which begins within the family since birth. The development of healthy habits should start within the family environment—the nurse in the nursery aids parents in their efforts to instil positive habits in their children. In order to achieve the desired results, it is necessary to interact, cooperate closely, be partners, complement each other and set uniform requirements for the child in the process of forming habits. We studied the level of health habits of children in nurseries through the eyes of parents and nurses. After the study, we identified the need to train parents to build habits in their children. To this end, we have created a Methodology for improving the effectiveness of the interaction between the nurse in the nursery and the parents, which includes parents' training via a practical guide developed by us, a model for building habits, continuous monitoring through an author's form which contains an assessment sheet regarding health habits by age group, and assessment criteria and activities to be undertaken to create a specific habit. The application of the Methodology during a 6-months period among 76 children proved it to be effective and showed a positive change in the level of mastering healthy habits.
