[EN] Oral Cavity is the main entry of microbial contamination, an environment breeding many pathogens and a habitat of different viruses. It’s the entrance to digestive tract and is often the subject of studies in dental medicine. Compared to other body cavities, the oral cavity and its physiological content are easily accessible. Biological materials of the mouth are easy to be isolated by non-invasive techniques; they are not associated with unpleasant and risky manipulations like blood tests or gastroscopy. We embarked on looking for changes in salivary levels of the main component of oral immune defense - slgA intake of probiotic. We focused attention and efforts to demonstrate the oral cavity role in the transmission of viral hepatitis B and C and Helicobacter pylori, considering the importance of hepatitis viruses in the development of liver cirrhosis and the proven dependency on gastric cancer and infection with H. pylori.
