Abstract

dc:description.abstract

In the fifth year of Zhenguan貞觀period(AD 631) in Tang Dynasty, Wei Zheng魏徵 compiled the Qunshu Zhiyao群書治要with other scholars, where most of the selected documents are based on the old texts in the early Tang Dynasty. These manuscripts preserved precious documentation, some of which have lost today. This thesis attempts to interpret Shangshu尚書in Qunshu Zhiyao, involving 34 chapters selected from 58 pseudo-Kong chapters of Shangshu in Archaic Script or Guwen古文version. As the earliest surviving edition of Shangshu Excerpts in contemporary script, its characters of texts and the detail of annotations are of important documentary value. The texts written in contemporary regular script are quite different from these in the Correct meanings of the Five classics (AD 653) produced by Kong Yinda孔穎達and Kaicheng Stone Classics(AD 837). It also used many ancient characters in pre-Qin script from Liguding隸古定version. Besides, the annotations recorded in it quoted original manuscripts of pseudo-Kong chapters except Canon of Shun舜 典selected from other scholars. This thesis focuses on the Shangshu Excerpts in Tianming天 明edition of the Qunshu Zhiyao to inspect seven remarked emendations and make seven corrections, through comparing with those in Jinze金澤, Junhe駿河, Kuanzheng寬政and other editions, then proofreading other versions of Shangshu such as the fragmented Dunhuang manuscripts and Japanese copies of Shangshu. Therefore, Kong An'guo's deuterocanonical transcripts are amended by revising the wrong, making up the missing, removing extra word and adjusting the order of characters. In addition, some supplementary exegesis and variant characters in Shangshu are preserved, which will benefits to the study on the history of Shangshu in the early Tang Dynasty.
