They are part of a large Christian denomination and are integral to serving the European division. Yet, there has been a sharp decline in growth in recent years. Successive leaders have tried to address the issue but have failed so far. Considering the uniqueness of this organisation, this study has investigated the extent to which political drivers impacted decision-making within the organisation. When exploring the political themes surrounding decision-making, this paper adopted a qualitative approach, using networked thematic analysis. The ‘cultural web’ tool was used as a framework for this study. They interviewed members of the board of trustees both past and present and found political drivers were significant and pervasive. Consequently, it has had a negative impact on the organisation.
