Although clarifying the risk factors of ICD can inform tailored intervention strategies, the clinical predictors of ICD are poorly understood. The present study provides a longitudinal analysis of clinical predictors of ICD using three groups of de novo patients with PD that were established from the Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative: Patients with ICD present at Baseline (n = 114), patients who develop ICD (n = 126), and patients with no ICD or related behaviours (n = 97). Bayesian and Frequentist analyses demonstrated that Anxiety predicts the development of ICD. Depression, Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS), and REM Sleep Behaviour Disorder (RBD) Symptoms were increased among patients with ICD compared to those without.
