Storms and Stories

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

The creative thesis and critical introduction that follows, Storms and Stories, focuses around the issues of class, place, and the environment. Specifically, this collection of eight stories explores present and future environments that the climate crisis creates, tension between rural and urban spaces, and narratives of working-class characters. These stories were written during my time studying in the Center for Writers at the University of Southern Mississippi between Fall 2019 and Spring 2021.
