Representative Volunteerism in Museums

<p>While increasing diversity is becoming more commonplace, it still remains a difficult subject to approach and handle effectively and correctly. This project is important because it will help to remove the invisible barriers that make institutions categorize groups based on race, class, gender, or ethnicity by creating a community so varied and incorporated that society will begin to accept it as status quo. As Pasadena Museum of History highlights the terms culture and education in its mission statement, this project reaffirms its necessity for the museum's longevity and long-term success. History is important, and history told from a variety of sides will improve the community's understanding of an increasingly globalizing world.</p>
