This research examines how antidumping actions influence the relationship between imports and domestic production in Peru’s textile, footwear, and steel sectors from 2019 to 2025. The purpose is to determine whether these trade-protection strategies have reduced foreign competitive pressure and supported industrial performance in sectors strongly affected by low-priced imports, mainly from China. To address this objective, a monthly database was constructed using information from INEI, PRODUCE, INDECOPI, BCRP, and VERITRADE, and a quantitative approach was applied using a VAR-X model that includes variables such as production, imports, unit prices, and the exchange rate. Initial observations reveal diverse trends across the sectors, suggesting that antidumping measures may have slowed the growth of imports, although with varied consequences for domestic production. It is expected that the econometric results will confirm the presence of differentiated effects, with more noticeable reactions in textiles and footwear, and a milder impact on steel due to its higher volatility and dependence on global factors. The contribution of this study lies in offering the first comparative analysis of these three manufacturing sectors in Peru, providing evidence that can help improve the design of antidumping policies and their alignment with industrial competitiveness and Sustainable Development Goals 8, 9, and 12. The findings aim to guide more timely, effective, and coherent policy decisions that support the country’s productive viability.","abstract_html":"La presente investigación se centra en examinar cómo las acciones antidumping influyen en el vínculo entre lo que se importa y lo que se produce a nivel nacional en los campos textil, del calzado y del acero en Perú, desde 2019 hasta 2025.
