The aim of this research is to identify the causes of dropout among first-year students at Universidad de Innovación del Bicentenario, analyze them, and propose alternative solutions that provide the institution with tools to ensure the continuity of its students. For this purpose, individual interviews were conducted with university leaders to understand the vision of the business, as well as interviews with former freshmen to learn about their profiles, identify their needs, and understand the factors that may lead them to drop out. It was observed that there is insufficient evidence to infer that the economic factor is decisive in dropout rates. However, there is evidence that not having someone to sponsor the student's education could represent a risk. After analyzing the information, this hypothesis was confirmed, showing that students who are responsible for 100% of their educational costs are the most likely to drop out. Additionally, there is a direct relationship between the student's age and dropout. The older the student, the higher the risk of dropping out.","abstract_html":"El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo identificar las causas de deserción de alumnos del primer año de estudios de la Universidad de Innovación del Bicentenario, analizarlas y proponer alternativas de solución que permitan a la institución tener herramientas que aseguren la continuidad de sus estudiantes.
