GAMR: Game Analytics for Mixed Reality
Abstract
dc:description.abstractRecently, game analytics has emerged as a primary tool for guaranteeing game quality, comprehending player behavior, and augmenting the overall player experience. However, most game analytic tools are designed for PC and Virtual Reality (VR) games, creating a void for Mixed Reality (MR) and Augmented Reality (AR) developers. To bridge this gap, we introduce GAMR, an analytics tool designed for MR games, aimed at assisting developers in identifying and resolving issues and bugs within their MR games. By offering data visualizations and reconstructing the original session using recorded gameplay data, GAMR provides comprehensive insights and analysis to enhance the development process. To evaluate the usefulness of GAMR, we conducted assessments on two genres: action-adventure and first-person shooter (FPS) where participants utilized GAMR across both games. The results of the evaluation demonstrated the usefulness of GAMR in both game genres, with a stronger indication of its utility in the Action-Adventure game.
