Abstract
dc:description.abstractOn average, Americans spend 2.7 billion dollars yearly replacing lost or stolen belongings and each individual spends two and a half days each year looking for these items. Current products in the market could help to track down lost items. However, this only works within a certain range or relies on a community of other users, which is not reliable. These commercially available devices often require interfacing with a smart device. There was significant room for improvement over the current products in the market which could simply prevent the loss of possessions in the first place. Forget Me Not accomplished this by creating a mesh network of tags using Digi Xbee 3 Zigbee 3.0 microcontrollers communicating using the Digimesh network protocol to transmit and receive signals between each other to verify each of the individual devices, which are attached to personal belongings, are within a specific range of other devices.
