Direct, behavioral observations are one cornerstone of effective BBS programs. This study examined the effects of providing managerial-level, weekly feedback to front-line employees about the employees' BBS observations in a Midwestern oil refinery. Results suggest that carefully interlocking the behavior of front-line employees with managerial practices can enhance effective BBS programs.
