Canticle of the Sun

Eight years out from three world-wide wars, both the Tress and Ren governments are still reeling with the consequences, the resulting half-blood children left to bear the burden of social censure. Natt is an orphaned Ren girl raised by a Tress noble who is leading a revolution that will have deadly consequences, even as Natt's own dark heritage is revealed. Tro is a divine conduit through the gears installed in his spine and all but captive in the Ren temple, given the impossible task of helping the Ren royal family solve a deadly drought, no matter the cost. Elsker is a half-blood guard in the borderlands, and his duty is about to demand that he return to his darkest nightmares:abuse at the hands of the man whom he once called friend and brother. These three are poised to help their people rise from the ashes of war, but only if they can overcome brutality and prejudice.
