Many studies have been conducted to ascertain the feelings and needs of families in this crisis however, there is a paucity of research focusing on the fathers feelings and the father's needs. The purpose of this study was to explore the fathers' concerns, needs and coping strategies as they are experiencing pediatric cancer. A convenience sampling (n = 48) of fathers involved in cancer treatment for their child was obtained from the records of the Candelighters Group of America the Las Vegas, Nevada Chapter. The top concerns were regarding the children's current and future wellbeing. The main questions the fathers needed answered were questions about the current and future development of their children. The number one most frequently utilized, as well as the most helpful coping strategy was prayer. An increase in yearly income was related to seeking more information and reading more about the problem.
