The proposed analytical equations are capable of accommodating the constant changes in the system parameters due to the advances in new technologies and changes in electric utility industry. An economic feasibility study is conducted for photovolaic systems in both suburban areas and in remote locations using actual data collected by Nevada Power Company (NPC). With the present cost and cell efficiency, the study shows that the cost of the panels will have to be reduced before PV installation becomes feasible in the Las Vegas Valley. However, remote locations are feasible options if the line extension costs are high.
