Data from a sample of UNLV teaching faculty (N = 276) suggests that professors who have higher levels of awareness of the personal power which they hold over students were more likely than professors with low levels of power awareness to label professor/student dating as well as repeated requests for dates by a professor as sexual harassment. Further it was found that differences in level of power awareness explained away gender differences the labeling of sexual harassment.
