Its objectives and activities provide instructional guidelines for teacher use within the classroom situation. This study surveyed high school English teachers and found that the majority of teachers did little or nothing to incorporate speech in their curriculum. The principal reasons given were lack of time, lack of materials, and inadequate university preparation.
