This research has led to the discovery, for example, that overlapping information across segments interferes with comprehension. The present study further investigates this issue by comparing RSVP to another frequently used text display format, the leading format. The leading format differs from RSVP with overlapping information in that it does not discriminate between text segments that end with words being truncated and those that do not. The results of the present experiment showed no significant difference in the comprehension levels obtained under these two display formats.
