Impact of Information Technology on Knowledge Work

As intangible assets emerge as a key determinant of performance and competitive advantage of firms, the organizational processes involved in creating and sharing knowledge within the firm are being recognized as important. Research in information systems research has traditionally focused on examining the role of systems such as knowledge management systems that support these activities. This dissertation focuses on collaborative problem solving processes among non-collocated parties, an activity central to the creation of knowledge that inherently involves significant knowledge sharing.
