Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis thesis in creative writing is a manuscript of poems that examine grief and loss, and their reverberations through the objects and memories of people that are left behind. It is the result of workshops, collaboration with the professors and students of the University of Missouri-Kansas City English Department, and research inspired by classes taken in the program. The poems draw from the knowledge and skills attained from the studies, lectures, and texts made available in classes required for the Master of Fine Arts program. The contents of the poems, as well as their form and style, are representative of the skills and aesthetic mastery achieved through participation in the program.
