Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis collection of stories largely deals with anxiety felt by people in small-town, rural America in the twenty-first century. Ranging from an old woman afraid of change to a veteran returning home to a people’s militia occupying a property, these stories reveal an often-overlooked perspective of the country. The author uses these stories to probe issues of prejudice, government, and the feeling of isolation in order to understand and explain forgotten voices.
