Abstract

dc:description.abstract

The following eleven stories are a culmination of three years of investigation through creative writing of life at home and family relationships. While the stories are closely related by theme, the form of each piece varies from stories based in realism to stories that take on elements of postmodernism through magical realism. The point of view of each piece also varies although young female protagonists often come to the forefront. I have arranged the stories in chronological order, beginning with the most recent, to demonstrate my growth as a writer. This collection of short stories is representative of the issues I find most urgent to write about at this point in my career
