At times, this can lead to a student learning only from methods, resulting in a keyboard education that may lack the diversity of styles and challenges that supplemental pieces can provide. In this document, I will present an overview of important composers who contributed to repertoire at the elementary level. Beginning with Bach and his contemporaries, I will write a short discussion on the background of each composer, provide a few short examples, and discuss the works in question.
