For this underlying theoretical model to work, it is important to verify the degree to which employees in occupations have homogeneous interests. This study addresses this question by looking at homogeneity from four perspectives: a quantitative review of published literature, examination of the Strong Interest Inventory manual data, a quantitative review of congruence indices, and a secondary analysis of a large dataset.
