The eighth volume of Muḥammad Ibn Sa‘d’s Al-Ṭabaqa̅t al-Kubrá and Badr al-Dīn al-Zarkashī’s Al-Ijāba li-īrād mā istadrakathu ʻĀʾisha ʻala al-ṣaḥāba make up the premodern scholarly works studied.
