The work presented here therefore helps to understand previously reported observations about diffusion and magnetization transfer. En route to testing the possibility of using diffusion imaging to image neural function, a new apparent diffusion tensor (ADT) imaging pulse sequence was developed and tested, and better insight into the measurement of the ADT was reached using both experiments and simulations.","abstract_html":"Our experiments showed that diffusion and magnetization transfer do not offer a unique window to neural function, as had been suggested by some reports in the literature.
