This thesis discusses the further characterization of this gene. Akap200 is a Protein Kinase A (PKA) binding protein with multiple binding sites for other signaling molecules, including Protein Kinase C (PKC), Camodulin and F-actin. Further studies showed that ORN axons of the Akap200 mutants stall in the path to their targets. The loss of Akap200 has different effects on different classes of ORN axons.
