(b) Traditional printmaking program teach students conventional printmaking methods using toxic materials, while non-toxic printmaking program teach students conventional and unconventional printmaking methods using non-toxic materials. (c) Non-toxic printmaking has some advantages over traditional methods in that it is safe, simple, quick, and cost effective. Also, traditional methods have some advantages over the non-toxic methods in that they have superior image outcome across mediums, while non-toxic methods are problematic in lithography. (d) There is resistance among faculty and students to non-toxic printmaking methods. The resistance is attributed to non-toxic printmaking method being new and unfamiliar.
