Symptoms were observed on four hybrids in 1992 but on none in 1993. Lowest levels of incidence of virus were detected in the May 1992 planting. The highest levels of incidence of virus and a significant decrease in the mean 10 ear weights in inoculated plots were observed for the June planting dates both years.
