A number of the identified QTL mapped to chromosomal locations containing previously identified QTL or known genes in the carotenoid biosynthetic pathway in maize. The information generated from this study will be used to design methods to enhance the antioxidant carotenoid and tocopherol content in sweet corn and broccoli germplasm.
