Twenty-one factors that facilitate or inhibit the negotiation of these differing perspectives are identified, including those that are shared, and those that are more important to the school or to the church. The present results are discussed in light of factors identified in the existing theoretical and empirical literature, with special attention to previously unidentified variables.
