The newly commissioned High Momentum Spectrometer was used to detect the recoil proton of the photodisintegration reaction at center of mass angles 36&deg;, 52&deg;, 69&deg;, and 89&deg; with incident photon energies 0.8, 1.6, 2.4, 3.2, and 4.0 GeV. Constituent counting rules predict that the invariant cross section should scale as s -11 at asymptotic energies. Previous data show evidence of this scaling starting at about Egamma = 1.2--1.5 GeV for theta cm = 90&deg;. Results from this experiment show that asymptotic scaling is evident for thetacm = 89&deg; and 69&deg;, but no evidence of asymptotic scaling is seen for theta cm = 52&deg; and 36&deg;. Experimental results disagree with the prediction given by the reduced nuclear amplitude model.
