We present a study of B hadron correlations in pp¯ collisions at s = 1.8 TeV. Events containing a bb¯ pair are identified by the presence of an energetic electron or muon and both B hadrons in the event are located by reconstructing their decay vertices using precision charged-particle tracking. The transverse opening angle distribution, Delta&phis;, measured in data is compared to prediction from the PYTHIA and HERWIG Monte Carlo programs and found to be qualitatively similar. The closest matching Monte Carlo model is used to extract the B hadron Delta&phis; distribution from the raw tag distribution. For the combined electron and muon sample, 28.8 +/- 1.0 (stat.) +/- 3.1 (syst.)% of B hadron pairs are found to have Delta&phis; < 90°.","abstract_html":"B hadron correlations provide input into the significance of higher-order bb¯ production mechanisms.
