Data were collected through the use of in-depth interviews and analyzed utilizing a thematic analysis. Participants' narratives showed complexity in the way issues of racial/ethnic identity, notions of machismo, and gender socialization are interrelated. The following themes emerged: (a) constructions of masculinity, (b) gender socialization, (c) silence about sexual matters, (d) transmission and (mis) understandings about sexual health knowledge, and (e) perceived role regarding women's health concerns.
