Only the life sciences TAs' grading was compatible to that of the ESL TAs in terms of rating severity. Raters' survey analysis also revealed that ESL raters were quite different from field TAs in their perception of rating difficulty and ranking of important components affecting their holistic decision for the field-specific essays.
