Again, a simple strand and a wire rope with a complex cross section are used as the examples for the purpose of illustration.","The final portion of this work is concerned with the testing of rope. A dimensional analysis is made of the various parameters associated with bend-over-sheave testing. A dimensionless parameter is introduced for the purpose of describing the size effect.
