These pieces, representative of the styles employed throughout the publication, have been heretofore untranscribed and unavailable in a performing edition. The analysis is divided into two main sections: (1) a discussion of the nature and forms of the texts, and (2) general musical traits. The latter section is concerned with the rhythmic and melodic aspects of text underlay, the amplification of words and concepts through musical means, range and tessitura, tonal types, and a discussion of the mensuration signs C and C as used in the Concerti.
