Firstly, a brief presentation is given concerning the history of "composition with twelve tones related only to one another" and the basic techniques it adheres to. All compositional techniques are discussed in relationship to four a cappella choral works by Arnold Schoenberg: "Unentrinnbar" and "Am Scheideweg" from Opus 27 and 28 respectively, "Dreimal tausend Jahre" Opus 50a and "De Profundis" Opus 50b.","Secondly, the a cappella choral works of Elisabeth Lutyens are presented chronologically and discussed separately in terms of the compositional methods employed. Lastly, a point by point comparison is presented between the earlier Twelve Tone techniques in works by Arnold Schoenberg and those discussed in the a cappella choral works of Lutyens followed by an analysis of the latter's style and its own evolutionary characteristics.","Made available in DSpace on 2014-12-16T04:12:53Z (GMT).
