Until now, no exact analysis for skew continuous structures was available in the literature. Consequently, an analytical investigation is needed in order to improve the design criteria of such structures. The finite element method based on the linear theory of elasticity is used in this study. The loads assumed are those corresponding to the HS20-44 traffic loadings. Only two-span bridges with two traffic lanes are studied. The effects of the parameters related to the geometry of the bridge and the physical properties of the slab and the beams are also studied. The structures analyzed cover a wide range of structures encountered in highway construction.
