Uncertainties in the dynamic analysis associated with both the loading and the prediction of the structural response are considered.","The method is based on a nonlinear random vibration analysis and an analytical technique for evaluating the sensitivity of the response to various structural and load parameters. Recently obtained data are used to formulate the earthquake random process model. The structural modeling is grounded on a shear beam idealization, with equivalent story parameters systematically evaluated in order to reasonably represent actual structural behavior, and an analytical hysteretic degrading model is used to represent the structural restoring force characteristics. A seismic hazard model is used to evaluate the probabilities associated with all significant ground motion intensities, and various damage and safety criteria are examined for the purpose of evaluating the lifetime damage probabilities.","Made available in DSpace on 2014-12-15T20:36:01Z (GMT).
