Five hundred and fifty-one questionnaires were mailed and 86% were returned. There was an 80 percent (442 out of 551) response rate used for data analysis. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Analysis System (SAS).","The results of this study indicated a significant difference between school (encompasses instructor and student respondents) and industry (consist of superintendent, technician and representative respondents) on the photo-offset technical competencies of compose, photo, strip and bindery. Then, the technicians perceived the views of the technical competencies of compose more important than those of superintendents.
